Ramblings

My apologies ahead of time for the random-looking postings this week. The internet has been giving me much grief when I try to post pictures, so even though I have more I could put up, I am giving up today out of frustration.

We've had a quiet but full week thus far, and already I'm looking at tomorrow being Friday! Not that that makes much difference in my life as a stay-at-home mom, other than the fact that Andre is around the house for two days, since Sierra's and my schedules don't change much. I've done lots of cooking and baking this week--three batches of homemade pudding that don't seem to last until the next day, bread from scratch since my bread machine is out of commission (overuse??--it gets used at least twice a week around here!), and meals for Andre. Despite being in my second trimester, I'm still nauseous often in the evenings, and am resigning myself to the thought that this is probably going to be the way it is for the rest of the pregnancy. Some good days, some not so good. I had my 17-week doctor appointment yesterday, and all is looking good so far. I'll have an ultrasound in about three weeks.

Andre has been putting in a couple hours every night on the deck before tackling homework. He's making progress, but feels that it's slow. I think he feels pressure to get the garden started now that nice weather seems to be here to stay. He starts playing soccer next week and so has added running a couple miles each night to his schedule to get in shape. It's an 8-week season and they play games every Sunday night, and already he's quite excited.

Sierra has been spending her days this week rearranging the pile of shoes at the back door, and unloading the pile of libary books from the coffee table to the floor and the books in her room from the shelf to the floor (rarely back again--we're going to start working on this as I'm tired of constantly picking up piles of books). At the moment she is supposed to be napping, but I've been hearing lots and lots of giggling and talking coming over the monitor...
