The favorite pastime this week has been to unload the books off her shelf (or the coffee table)...again and again and again. Sometimes I'll have them all put away and not two minutes later she's got them on the floor again--I can even hear the "thuds" in the other room. Somehow I'll have to teach her that it's also fun to put them on the shelf again--any ideas? Thursday, April 30, 2009

The favorite pastime this week has been to unload the books off her shelf (or the coffee table)...again and again and again. Sometimes I'll have them all put away and not two minutes later she's got them on the floor again--I can even hear the "thuds" in the other room. Somehow I'll have to teach her that it's also fun to put them on the shelf again--any ideas?

Haha! Use your happiest, most excited voice to introduce the project and clap for yourselves and cheer! :) This is what we do in our house - can you picture it?! "Picking up is FUN!!!" YAY!! Ahhh, yes, we know what you're talking about well.
My only idea that worked for us was wait a few months and it won't be on their radar any more. It's surprising, I know. I remember thinking "is this stage ever going to end?" I'm happy to report that it does and then you will be reminded of it with child number 2.
