Settling in...

So after almost two years in our house in New Richmond, I think I'm finally settling into it. And by that I mean getting around to painting and putting curtains up and pictures on the walls. I spent the first few months we were here with bare walls, and only the blinds that were left in the house. The main level had been painted, except for the bathrooms. The basement was pure white, every room. So last summer I finally painted the family room in the basement (at eight months pregnant!). This last week I finished painting the master bath (it was originally the cream you can see on the wall above the sinks--I've left that cream). Now I need to replace the blinds that are broken and put up curtains. Doing these little projects makes me feel like I'm finally "settling in" to our house, and that we might be here longer than the year or two we've ever lived in a place! (we certainly hope so given the size and work of our garden! :) ). My next big project is to tackle cleaning up our "office" room that everything seemed to get stashed in when I didn't know where else to put it after the movers left and I ran out of steam organizing it. It'll start when we move the bed up to Sierra's room and transfer her out of the crib. Then I'll paint (again--this is the third house I've painted in five years!). I'll try to remember to post pictures whenever that projects happens.
