Fall

Kids helping to gather the last of the tomatoes a month or so ago.
the fall colors at one of our local parks (everything is bare now).
Andre's last soccer game of the season...needing to wear mittens!  And below, enjoying some warm chai while playing Legos (yes, he is only wearing shorts still inside...something that probaly will stay that way all winter).
A favorite season around our house (although really, we all like each season for each of it's different activities and foods, etc) is fall.  I love the apples and pumpkins and changing color of the leaves, and the warm drinks on cool days, and homemade soups for lunch.  And much as I hate to put away my shorts and sandals, I love pulling out cozy sweatshirts.  Fall crafts and nature walks with the kids...anything related to leaves, pumpkins, apples, and now turkeys/Thanksgiving!  It also means laying the garden to rest, getting the rest of the produce into the freezer or canned, and settling back to "rest" from that season of labor and to enjoy what God provided from the garden.   Andre spends hours in the woods hunting and getting the hockey rink up so that once the temperature is right he can begin flooding.  And we've already tried on skates for this year to make sure everyone's ready to go!  And for those who know Andre, yes, the rink is bigger this year than last!  46' x 96', up to four 12 foot spotlights...pics will come when it's all assembled.  So in our house we enjoy fall, and the anticiption of winter (at some levels...the bundling up of little people every day is not high on my "favorites" list yet).
